How long is the invitation process?
There are a lot of variables that go into the time frame–how long it takes to get an approval on design; how long it takes for customers to approve their samples; how many other brides/customers are ahead of you. Under most circumstances from time of approval of printed sample its about 2-3 weeks for production. Please advise me early on if you are in need of fast turnaround and I will accommodate as best I can. If your order is a rush please contact me so I can check my current production schedule. I usually estimate 6-8 weeks. If your event date is further out in the year, I will usually hold production until it is closer.
I’ve seen a design elsewhere that I like. Can you copy it?
NO, NO, and NO. I will not copy another designer’s work. Besides copy right laws, I do not like having my work shopped around. Therefore, I do not do the same. Which leads me to the next question…
Do you do custom designs before a deposit is placed?
NO. And this is done for quite a few reasons, but mainly because customers in the past have taken my designs to other vendors. And I’ve caught them copying it. In order to protect my work, designs, and myself, I will not be doing any designs or printed samples until a quote & contract are in place and a deposit is received.
I’d like to order a sample. How do I do that?
Its always recommended that you order a sample of my work before receiving a quote and entering into production. You can order one of any invitation or stationery product seen on the site. Please note: I do not do custom made samples. This will be a previous customer’s design/ensemble used for sample purposes. With your sample will come various paper swatches in the color scheme noted for you to review and a packet of information on the ordering process. Every attempt is made to send the product as seen in the picture or something close to it depending upon availability of materials on hand.
What can I expect from the design process?
Once I receive your deposit the following will happen:
-
Materials will be ordered in.
-
I will ask you to send me a word doc via email containing the wording you would like to use for your invitation. (No worries, I can help you put this together if you need it. Please no special formatting like ALL CAPS.
-
I will then begin your invitation drafts based on ideas we’ve discussed.
-
2-3 invitation drafts will be sent to you via email. You can tell me your likes/dislikes and we’ll work on tweaking to achieve your final design. It will typically take a few rounds of back and forth to achieve the final design.
-
Once the invitation is finalized, I will do your inserts and tags to match.
- Finally, once all your digital proofs are approved, a PRINTED, ASSEMBLED invitation will be mailed to you for FINAL APPROVAL. See next section.
Will I see a final proof for approval?
Yes, as noted above you will see a final printed sample for approval. It is your RESPONSIBILITY to review this sample for spelling, grammar, punctuation, color, layout, etc. Approval forms and checklists are sent with the sample. You will need to approve in writing via email or faxing the form of any changes or your final approval.
I WILL NOT PRINT ANYTHING UNTIL CUSTOMER SIGNS OFF.
I am not responsible for errors caught after approval has been given and production has started. It is imperative you review every piece of your invitation suite carefully. You will be charged the cost to order in any new materials if reprinting occurs. Please do not tell me because this is your first and only time ordering invitations that you did not know it should be reviewed. Check list and approval forms will be sent with your printed sample.
Payment Policies
Deposit of 50% is due at the time of ordering. This allows me to put your order into design and get your materials ordered.
In the event your event is cancelled, deposits are non refundable as I cannot return pocket folds and or pre-cut stocks. You have the option to use this deposit at a later date or for another event.
Final payment is due after you have approved your printed sample and the invitations go into final production. Nothing will be sent until all balances are remitted.
